2025 Open Payments iOpen Payments is a CMS program under the Physician Payments Sunshine Act requiring drug and medical device manufacturers to publicly report payments and other transfers of value to physicians, teaching hospitals, and certain other healthcare providers. The goal is transparency into financial relationships between providers and industry. For MedTech, the data is also a source of commercial intelligence — mapping physician-industry relationships, competitor engagement, and market strategy.
